I'm sorry for the pain I've given you.
Adolescence is no cup of tea.
My angry bursts bewilder even me,
Just as they must disconcert you, too.
Understand, no matter what I do,
Still my love for you is like a sea:
Tempest tossed, at times, as it must be;
Great with yearning, deep, and wide, and true.
Reason cannot fathom what I am
Or calculate the currents of my heart.
What I feel is full of creatures dark,
Invisible, yet hungry to be known.
No rules, even self-imposed, can dam
Guest surges spilling into every part,
Undoing will, surrounding each remark . . .
Perhaps this sea will calm when I am grown.
