More than Once the Earth May Yield Its Secrets

More than Once the Earth May Yield Its Secrets

More than once the earth may yield its secrets
As you uncover some long-sought-for wall,
Sharing just a moment of its night,
The labyrinth of sorrow and delight
Eventually entered in by all.
Reason, though, can not bring back the egrets,
Silent in the chill of early fall.
